Why $45 instead of a $5 indie tool?
The kit is for people running multiple brands — agency owners, indie hackers with portfolios, solo founders juggling 3+ products. If MorningStack saves you 30 minutes per morning, that's ~2 hours a week, ~100 hours a year. $45 vs 100 hours is fair. If you only run one brand, you probably don't need this — go buy a $5 tool instead.
Is this a subscription? Will it auto-renew?
No. One-time payment, lifetime kit. We don't store your card after checkout. Stripe processes the $45 and that's the end of the transaction. We're allergic to SaaS bills here too.
Where does my data live?
On your machine. Period. The kit reads and writes local files — brands.json, current_followers.json, daily JSON snapshots. Nothing goes to our servers. Nothing goes to anyone's servers. You can fully air-gap this kit (after the one-time download).
Do I need to know how to code?
You need to be able to (a) open Terminal once and run python3 generate.py, and (b) edit a JSON file. If you've ever copied a code snippet from a tutorial, you can run this kit. If you actively hate using a terminal even once a week, this isn't your tool.
What if I want to add a brand later?
Open brands.json. Copy any existing brand object. Paste it at the end. Change the id and fill in your data. Re-run. The new brand appears in the master dashboard. Unlimited brands.
Does it post for me?
No. MorningStack is the morning brief layer — what to do today, where things stand. The actual posting happens wherever you do it now (LinkedIn, X, Buffer, Publer, your phone). Every quick win has a "Do it →" button that opens the right composer in a new tab.
How does follower tracking work?
Once a week (or however often you want), update current_followers.json with your latest counts. The kit auto-computes day-over-day deltas. If you use Buffer / Publer / Metricool, screenshot your accounts overview, paste into ChatGPT and ask for it as JSON, drop into the file — 30 seconds. We don't pull from platform APIs because each one's OAuth flow is platform-specific; the file format is open if you want to wire it up yourself.
What about per-platform engagement, reach, impressions?
Not what this is. MorningStack tracks follower counts (the one number that matters day-to-day) and the qualitative stuff you maintain yourself — mentions, top priority, today's wins. For deep analytics, your platform-specific dashboards already do that and we'd be a worse version of them.
How does this compare to Buffer / Publer / Metricool / Hootsuite?
Different layer. Those are scheduling tools — they let you queue, publish, and analyse posts across your accounts. MorningStack is the morning dashboard that sits on top: today's overview across every brand, today's first move ready to react to. Use them together — paste follower counts from Publer / Metricool into current_followers.json once a week (or use the kit's auto-fetch for the platforms that allow it), and let MorningStack be the page you open every morning instead of opening six tabs.
I run brands for clients at an agency. Does this work?
Yes. Two patterns: (a) one MorningStack folder per client, each becomes its own daily dashboard you can share / print as a PDF report; or (b) one master kit with every client brand together, so you've got a single agency-wide overview. Most agency operators we've talked to use (a) for client-facing reports and (b) internally as their own morning command-centre.
Can I upsell this to my own clients?
Yes — please do. If you run an agency, consultancy, or fractional CMO practice, bundling MorningStack into your service is exactly the use case we built for. There's a dedicated Agency tier ($149 one-time) that covers unlimited client deployments, white-label permitted, bundle into your packages, charge what you charge. We sold you files; do what you want with them after.
The Solo tier ($45) works if all your clients live in one master folder (your own operator workflow across them). The Agency tier ($149) is the right move once you're installing the kit on multiple client machines or building it into a productised service.
The only thing not allowed on either tier: repackaging the kit as your own product (renaming it, stripping our authorship, charging a licence fee for the same files). Bundling into a service = fine. Repackaging-as-your-own = not.
Will it work on Windows?
Yes. Python 3 runs on macOS, Linux, Windows. The kit uses only the standard library — no pip install. Open cmd or PowerShell, cd to the folder, run python generate.py. Same on every OS.
Can I share this with my co-founder / team?
Yes. Two ways: (1) email the zip, they unzip and run their own copy (private dashboards each); or (2) put brands.json + current_followers.json in a shared Drive/Dropbox/git repo so everyone reads the same files (synced view). The kit is a folder, not a SaaS, so there are no seats.
What if you shut down?
You already own the kit — there's nothing to shut down on your end. We'd lose the way to sell new copies. If that ever happens, we'd open-source the build code so anyone could keep iterating on it. We've got that promise on every product we ship.
Do you do refunds?
No — and we'd rather be straight about why. MorningStack is a download. The second you have the zip, you have the product forever, with or without our permission. Refunding would mean handing you a free copy, which would be a quick way to go out of business. EU digital-goods rules allow no-refund sales when the buyer consents to immediate delivery — Stripe Checkout collects that consent before charging. The flip side: we try to over-disclose before you click buy. Watch the demo screenshot above, read the "who it's NOT for" section, scroll the FAQ. If you're not sure, ask first: hello@morningstack.marketingprompthub.com. Full policy here.
What if something is broken or I never got the download?
Email hello@morningstack.marketingprompthub.com with your order email. If the file never reached you (delivery email lost, kit doesn't run, double charge), we make it right — refund, re-send, or fix the bug — case by case. That's separate from "I changed my mind" refunds, which we don't do for the reasons above.
